We are the Democracy is not another activist organization. There are already many groups and institutions doing exceptional work.

This site exists for the sole purpose of facilitating communication, networking and organization within the burgeoning PEOPLE's movement. Those with power and money are not going to do the work of making the American Government more representative of the PEOPLE. If it is to happen WE the PEOPLE have to team up and make it happen.

The board is currently in its beta testing stage. Our immediate goals are:

• Grow board membership to include a diverse array of activists. Participation by people from the front-lines all the way to state, regional and national leaders is essential to building a strong, cohesive national movement.
• During Beta stage - work with founding members to build a team of activists from every level who work together on concrete solutions. An example of this team model can be found in the Time to Amend - What WE are the Democracy Can Contribute thread. Team work within this thread led directly to a functioning Time to Amend action that anyone can do from their computer.

If you care about building an American Democracy of the people, by the people and for the people, then WeAreTheDemocracy.com is the place for you to meet, work and solve problems with others. It does not matter whether you are a front-line activist getting involved for the first time in your life, or whether you have been involved for decades. In order for America to unfold its full potential, We the PEOPLE must take our rightful place in the process of self-goverenance.
